Dr. Joel LeMon studied trumpet at the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music in Virginia, where he graduated with a degree in Music Education in 1998. At Shenandoah, he played in the Conservatory Jazz Ensemble and numerous jazz combos, with which he toured Japan, Brazil, Germany and Iceland. In 2001–2002, Joel lived in South Africa where he was active in the Cape Town jazz scene. Between gigs with The Usual Suspects, Joel teaches Old Testament / Hebrew Bible at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology.
