Michelle graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1993 with a Bachelors degree in trombone performance. She began her trumpet career in 2004 after a shoulder injury rendered it impossible to play trombone. Four years later she is very grateful to her colleagues in the Usual Suspects for choosing her to play 3rd trumpet. She also plays on the Georgia Perimeter College Jazz Ensemble and the Praise Band at Northside United Methodist Church.
The rest of Michelle's life is dedicated to teaching people how to play music. She has been giving private lessons in brass and piano since 1985. Many of her students have gone on to All-State and other honor bands throughout The United States.
