Ollie Patterson - Tenor Sax

Ollie’s venture into music began at the age of 12.  His first instrument was the clarinet and later switched to the Saxophone at 16.

Ollie completed his 10th – 12th grades in Frankfurt American High School in Frankfurt, Germany.  He attained first chair status during all of his academic years and earned numerous awards as an outstanding soloist during regional Jazz band competitions.  Also during this time, Ollie joined The Intentions, the top dance band in Germany and was the youngest military dependant to tour all over the country.

Ollie studied music at the University Of Texas At El Paso in the mid '70s.  While in stage band, he again achieved 1st chair status and continued to win awards as an outstanding soloist.  While attending UTEP, Ollie met bassist extraordinaire, Jake Jacobs, and formed the R&B/Fusion group Climax, which rapidly became the top band in El Paso in the late '70s.  Additionally, the group won all of the “Battle of the Bands” contests that were held in the local area.

Ollie’s primary instrument is the Saxophone - all of them.  He is also proficient on guitar, drums, bass guitar, clarinet, and flute.  Ollie has performed with such artists as The Drifters, Phil Driscoll, Kenneth Copeland, The Imperials, The Sammy Kaye Orchestra, Inez Fox, Will McFarland, Shirley Arnold Ministries, Art Pepper, Pat Boone, Don Ellis, The Take Note Big Band, and many others.  Ollie’s diverse musical styles include Jazz, R&B, Fusion, Country, Pop, Classical, and Contemporary Christian.

Ollie is the president of Atmosphere, which provides live music for corporate events, private engagements, church functions and banquets.
